It is not a trailhead address. 583 Flat Shoals Ave SE is East Atlanta Village: a short drive or rideshare to Eastside Trail segments, and a neighborhood you can walk for dinner without needing the trail as a listing gimmick. Reynoldstown and Cabbagetown sit on the Eastside Trail. Glenwood Park connects to the Southeast / Eastside trail spine. East Atlanta Village, east of Moreland, is the dining village that does not yet have a trail through the commercial strip. The Southeast Trail's longer build toward this side of town is a city project, not an amenity we will pretend is finished. ## How to actually get on the trail Plan BeltLine time as a half-day: coffee, trail, lunch, back to the house. - **Rideshare or a short drive west** toward Reynoldstown / Glenwood Park access, then walk or bike the paved Eastside / Southeast segments toward Krog Street, Inman Park, or Ponce City Market depending on energy. - **Bike** if you bring one or rent near a trail node. The house is not a bike-share dock. - **Do not** assume you can walk out the door onto the BeltLine. You will be disappointed and we would rather you plan the outing. Parking at popular trail access points fills on weekends. Leave the driveway at 583 clear for returning cars. Do not overflow onto the front yard. We will not invent a single minute-count that pretends all trailheads are equal. Reynoldstown and Glenwood Park are a short drive or rideshare, not a doorstep walk. ## Why the 5BR still wins for trail plus village The property has two living rooms and a yard if half the group wants to stay in. That split is the point of a 5 bedroom house. Five king beds, four baths, two kitchens, sleeps 10. A Midtown high-rise "near the BeltLine" can put you closer to Piedmont Park trail access and still give you one elevator, one living room, and a noise complaint if ten people return at once. A Cabbagetown or Reynoldstown 4BR with a hot tub can put you on the trail on foot. You may give up EAV's restaurant cluster and this house's second kitchen. That trade is real. The Earl, 529, and the rest of the strip are the local nightlife, not a downtown club crawl unless you plan it. [5 bedroom house East Atlanta Village](/blog/east-atlanta-village-weekend) covers parking, check-in, and house rules. Check-in 4:00 PM, check-out 11:00 AM. Email zenzeezstayz@gmail.com. If you are choosing a house primarily because a listing title says "steps to the BeltLine," believe the map, not the title. Plenty of eastside listings use BeltLine as a keyword from a mile or more away. We would rather lose that search than lie. ## What a BeltLine half-day looks like from this house Leave after breakfast. Rideshare or drive to a Reynoldstown or Glenwood Park access point. Walk or bike a segment. Ponce City Market if the group wants a food hall. Krog Street if they want a shorter loop. Piedmont Park if they want the north end and have the legs for it. Come back to 583 for the afternoon split: half the group on the porch or in the yard, half in the second living room. Grocery the night before if you want to cook after the trail. East Atlanta Village has walkable dinner if you would rather not. Check-in is still 4:00 PM. Do not plan a drop-bags-at-noon trail day. Ask for early access in writing or start the trail on day two. If your group wants trail plus village plus a house that can split, send dates and headcount. [Request these dates](/book) ## FAQ ### How many minutes to the BeltLine? It depends which access point you mean. Reynoldstown and Glenwood Park are a short drive or rideshare, not a doorstep walk. We will not invent one minute-count. ### Can we leave bikes in the yard? Ask when you book. The yard is fenced. We do not guarantee a locked bike room. Bring locks. ### Is a car required? Not strictly. Rideshare covers trail access and downtown. A car is more comfortable for grocery runs. Parking on site is driveway plus rear. ### Which neighborhood is more walkable, EAV or Cabbagetown? EAV is more walkable to its own restaurant village. Cabbagetown / Reynoldstown are more walkable to the BeltLine and Krog Street Market. Pick the walk you actually want.
